Our January Teacher of the Month has been described as a teacher who goes above and beyond for her students. She exudes positive energy. Her instruction, lessons, and activities engage students and have increased their scores on assessments. She has a wealth of knowledge from which students and staff have much to learn! Thank you for being a part of our team, Mrs. Jane Mataczynski! We appreciate you! Mrs. Mataczynski is pictured here with her students, Dr. Rogers (superintendent), and Mrs. Blair (elementary principal).

That's a win for our Lady Pirates in the first round of the Lady Comet Classic against Monett. They will play again Thursday night at 6:00 against Clever. See you there!

Good Evening Crane Families,
With careful consideration, I have made the decision that Crane R-III WILL be in session Wednesday, January 17. Please make sure your kiddos bundle up, especially if they have to wait for the bus. I have heard of quite a few families who have frozen and/or busted pipes. If this applies to your household, we wanted to let you know that your child is more than welcome to take a hot shower at school at some point during the day on Wednesday. Please have them pack a change of clothes and a towel. We have shampoo and body wash available for any student who may need it. We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.
Sincerely,
Dr. Rogers

Our girls basketball team will play at Marionvile H.S. this evening at 7:30 against Monett.

Parents/Guardians:
In an effort to help any college-bound student reach their post-secondary goals, we will be offering the opportunity for 10th-12th grade Crane students to take the ACT at Crane High School during the school day. This will take place on March 12, 2023. The cost for the test is $51; this is a savings of $17 off the regular price. It is the policy of Crane R-III High School to reimburse the ACT test-taking fee to those students who, on their first attempt, score at or above the most recent Missouri State Average score on the ACT test. Crane High School will also, on subsequent attempts, reimburse the fee if a student improves upon their best score.
Some advantages of taking the ACT at school during the day:
1. You do not need to find transportation to an ACT location on a Saturday.
2. The location is guaranteed. They won't close the site due to low numbers like they can for National testing.
3. It is cheaper than a National test ($51 compared to $68 for the exact same test)
4. You can improve your score the more times you take the ACT. Most colleges accept super scores. Your superscore is the average of your best scores from each subject from multiple test attempts.
If you would like your student to participate in this testing opportunity, please complete the attached form (https://forms.gle/WgxPnyq8Exsx3Fed8) and pay your $51 fee to the high school office by January 26th. If you have questions, contact Mrs. Mullins at mullinsm@crane.k12.mo.us or call 417-723-5300 ext 715.
