Our November Students of the Month in the Jr High and High School are 7th grader Layla Harter and Sophomore Brady Cline. About Layla, her nominating teacher said: Layla is a happy, pleasant person. She works hard to do well in her classes, and I have never seen her be anything but kind to those around her. Brady was nominated by 3 teachers who shared: 1) Brady always comes to class with a smile on his face and ready to work. He is helpful to other students and very respectful! 2) Brady is a nice kid! He tries hard and does not whine or complain if the learning is difficult. I appreciate that he gives his best! 3) Brady is a very hard working young man who is always respectful and polite to both his teachers and peers. He exhibits great effort in the classroom and pushes himself to improve.
Thank you, Layla and Brady and great job!!

Reminder! There is no school next week at all (November 26th through the 29th). It's Thanksgiving Break!!

Join us for the official Groundbreaking Ceremony of our new Track Complex on Wednesday, December 4, at 2:00 PM! Celebrate with us as our band and track team kick off this exciting occasion!

Mrs. Tapia's World Foods class completed their China lab yesterday! Students made homemade crab rangoon, seasoned chicken in a homemade sauce, and lo mein noodles. Students worked together and prepped everything the day before giving them more time to cook the next day, and more importantly, EAT their delicious food. This was our best lab so far!

🧬 DNA Extraction Lab 🧬
This week, Ms. Means' 7th grade science students took a closer look at DNA with a hands-on strawberry extraction lab! 🍓🔬 Using isopropyl alcohol, clear dish soap, and salt, they successfully isolated DNA from strawberries. It was incredible to see their excitement as they watched the strands of DNA appear before their eyes!
This lab ties into our lessons on how genes are passed down and how they shape our traits and characteristics. Ask your student about the process or what surprised them the most about DNA—it’s been a fascinating experience!
Check out our scientists in action!

Work it out Wednesday! JAG students use this day to work on classwork from other classes in order to build academic success and confidence. They are being proactive and striving for academic excellence!

Reminder! Tomorrow is picture retake day! Please see attached graphic for retake/absentee information. Any student that was absent or not enrolled on 9/19/24 will have their picture taken.

During our Veteran's Day Assembly (November 8th), four of our elementary students read "thank you" letters to our veterans in attendance. These students were recognized for their Random Act of Patriotism (R.A.P.) by a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary - Mary K. Thurman. She was one of the veterans in attendance. Thank you for this recognition.
