Our students danced the night away like the pharaohs of old at our “Gala in Giza” themed 2025 Prom. Congratulations to Prom King, Connor Angel, and Prom Queen, Addy Westrip! It was our honor and joy to plan and craft this amazing event for our juniors and seniors! Special thank you to everyone who helped make the evening a resounding success; our amazing admin and staff, Mrs. Mease, Coach Mullins, Mrs. Mullins, Mrs. Johnson, Mrs. Faucett, Mrs. Funcannon, Coach Morelock, and Mrs. Tapia, as well as their wonderful spouses who chaperoned the event and kept our students safe and sound throughout the night, then later helped us pack and tidy all the decor; the junior prom committee for their hard work throughout the year fundraising, planning, and creating this event; students, Katie Cox, Madalyn Brown, Braylon Merrit, Grayson Merrit, Tailor Cleveland, and Lorelei Hadley, and parents, Mrs. Merrit and Mrs. Cox, as well as Mrs. Johnson, and Ms. Knight’s family who spent their morning decorating the venue; the senior yearbook staff who created the annual Prom Slideshow, and our teachers, Mr. Wecker, Coach Scott, Mrs. Steele, Mrs,. Vaught, Mrs. Shoenberger, Mrs. Funcannon, and Mrs. Williams for their video contributions; our rocking DJ Jobe who kept us dancing the whole night and his wonderful wife Addison who stayed busy with our students on the 360’ photo booth; DJ Will for setting up lights, music, and entertainment for the evening; and finally our gracious venue hosts Trey and Marc with Ozarks Event Center. We could not have hosted this event without all the support, and we are eternally grateful for all your hard work and care for our students! The yearbook staff and Ms. Knight will be sorting through photos over the next few weeks, but please enjoy a few shots from the evening’s festivities. Thank you again everyone; it was night to remember, and we are so proud of our community, staff, and students for making it happen! Until next year!

Last night, Logan, Collin, Nolan, Chloe, Kayleigh, and Allie's presentations for the Preschool Playground Upgrade and Expansion were presented to the Board! 🎉 They collaborated to determine how many rubber tiles are needed to transform the grassy area, making it a safe and fun space for our Preschoolers to play—especially since it's often too wet and muddy. A huge shoutout to these students for their hard work in identifying the problem, explaining their thinking, and designing a presentation with a thoughtful solution! 🙌 Mrs. Lawson will be at the "Meet Me on Main" event on Saturday, April 26th, from 10 AM to 5 PM, selling Walking Tacos to help fund this exciting project. 🌮 We would greatly appreciate any donations! #PreschoolPlayground #StudentSuccess #CommunitySupport

Summer School forms for next year's 7th through 12th grade students, which includes the current 6th grade class, are in the high school office. I wanted to let parents know that we will be having Driver's Ed this summer if enough students sign up. Students must have their driver's permit to be in the class. There are also some other class options your student(s) may be interested in. We would love to have them this summer! Summer school is not limited to Crane students! If you have any questions, contact the high school office. ~Mrs. Mease

First grade students have been actively exploring the components of personal narrative writing. On Wednesday, April 22nd, Mrs. Custer's class took a hands-on approach to celebrate Earth Day. The students engaged in a meaningful community service project by collecting litter around the school playground fence. Following this activity, they reflected on their experiences through writing. This initiative exemplifies one of the many engaging methods students at Crane learn the foundational skills of writing.

Our Lady Pirate Softball team played Reeds Spring Lady Wolves yesterday evening! The Varsity pulled out a win and the JV ended up in a tie after an injury to the Wolves forced them to forfeit the rest of the game. (We hope their pitcher is feeling better!) Congratulations, ladies on working hard!

We’re thrilled to announce the grand opening of our new inclusive playground structure! Today’s ribbon cutting ceremony was a joyful celebration of community, inclusion, and the power of partnership. This addition to our school playground ensures that all students can play, grow, and thrive together. We are appreciative of the generous supporters who made this wish become a reality, including the financial contributions from the Masonic Lodge of Billings, TangerKids Grant, Silver Dollar City Foundation Hope Grant, and the Stone County Developmental Disability Board Grant. A special shoutout goes to Brent Metcalf and Les Essary for the time and care they dedicated to preparing the ground covering and tiles. And a big thank-you to our amazing ANCHOR School students for rolling up their sleeves and helping lay the tiles—it was truly a team effort!
