Our Jr High and High School August Students of the Month are 7th grader Maverick Pippin and Junior Raegan Jackson! Many students were nominated for starting the year off strong.
About Maverick, the nominating teacher said, "I have appreciated having Maverick in my class so far. He has been active in class discussions and works diligently during class. He has been helpful to his peers as well."
About Raegan, the nominating teacher said, "Raegan spent hours working by herself at the Broiler Festival for school groups and has also made herself available to help as much as possible here at school these past two weeks. Thank you, Raegan!"
Great job, Maverick and Raegan! We appreciate our hard-working students!

That's a season opener WIN against Purdy for our Pirates and a warm welcome for Coach Tucker and Coach Vert! Great job, gentlemen!

Our new 7th graders and our new science teacher, Ms. LaCavera, had their first visit to the lab today to familiarize themselves with the science lab, learn about safety, and practice various forms of measurement. It's been a great first two weeks of school!

Kindergarten started week one of colors of the day! This week was red, orange, blue and green! Here are pictures of them enjoying their foods for that color! The students got to practice learning the colors, color names and color activities!

Who wants some new Pirate gear? T-shirts are $15 and tumblers are $20. All proceeds go to the high school boys' basketball team! Order forms can be turned in to the high school or elementary offices.

We are back in full swing and we know we have stand out teachers! Please nominate your favorite teacher to be recognized for the September Teacher of the Month at the following link. Nominations will be accepted through noon on Wednesday, September 4, 2024.

Yesterday, Mindy Honey, the Executive Director of the Silver Dollar City Foundation, presented a check to Crane R-III. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Care for Kids for the invaluable support they provide to our district! Their assistance allows us to address the needs of our students promptly, helping to remove potential barriers to learning and ensuring students can thrive. We are without a doubt, community blessed!

Check out your students PE days to make sure they have tennis shoes.

Reminder- Boys & Girls Club is now open. In order for child(ren) to attend, parents MUST call the school and give approval. Please call ASAP if your child is attending.

This morning, Crane R-III's 2024 Educator of the Year was the GRAND MARSHAL in our community's annual Broiler Festival parade. Mrs. Merritt is an amazing teacher, wife, mom, and friend, and she loves her Crane community. She certainly is GRAND!

Greetings and happy Broiler Fest!
Top Deck Gaming Club is hosting a series of cornhole tournaments on Saturday. We will be across the metal bridge in the park. Please see the attached flyer for more information.
We have several openings for the masterclass tournament left. If your interested, even if you don't usually do tournaments, please come out and play.
This serves as a fundraiser for the club, but the tournaments could be a day of fun for the entire family. Looking forward to your support.

Project Prom is running a $1000.00, 50/50 raffle down at the Broiler Festival, but you can reserve your number through the Crane High School Project Prom Facebook page as well and pay via Venmo to Crane Project Prom at https://venmo.com/code?user_id=3917763848439770323! Each number/square is $20, and the winner will get $1000!!! We also have the t-shirts pictured here for $15.00 a piece. Come see us at the Broiler Festival across from the pageant stage and right next to the ice cream booth!

We would like to thank all of the families who turned in completed Free and Reduced Meal applications. We had over 150 applications turned in representing a large percentage of our students. Each family who turned in an application, had their name entered into the drawing for the "Broiler Festival Family Fun Package". Congratulations to Karissa Gray!

Greetings all! This is my last call for a second round of yearbook orders for 2023/2024. If you missed your chance to order a yearbook last year and you would like to purchase one, send me an email (knighta@crane.k12.mo.us) and let me know. I will be placing the order next Tuesday afterschool, and this will be the last chance to purchase and order a copy of last year's book. Yearbooks are $45. Once we receive the books, I will email you to let you know they are ready. We will only send this second order of books home once we have your payment.
Thank you all for supporting our program, and please keep an eye out for our 2024/2025 yearbook announcements!

Attention parents or guardians who pick up their jr. high and high school children in the gravel lot at the end of the jr high hallway in the afternoons: I realize there has been a safety issue when trying to exit the gravel lot from its east driveway as you cannot see past the elementary parent pick up line if student drivers are coming toward you; similar to the issue parents and students are having when pulling out onto HWY 413. To help make our end of day traffic safer, the gravel lot driveway closest to 413 is for ENTERING ONLY. The gravel lot driveway closest to the high school parking lot is for EXITING ONLY. See the attached pictures for clarity. This applies to all people entering and exiting this gravel lot which includes parents picking up and parents of students who are in football practice. You may contact Mrs. Mease at measet@crane.k12.mo.us with any questions, comments, or concerns regarding this matter.
Thank you!
~Mrs. Mease

Thank you for working with us! At 7:49, there was no line! We appreciate everyone for their patience and cooperation in having students ready to get out of the car and our SRO, Officer Nolan, for directing traffic! We are hopeful our afternoon pick-ups will be just as smooth and safe while we continue to work out the kinks!

We apologize for the late notice, but we are trying to create plans for safety. To help alleviate the morning drop off congestion at the elementary, we need parents of 3rd through 6th grade students who eat breakfast at school to drop their child(ren) at the high school entrance. 3rd through 6th grade breakfast eaters will be added to the Jr High & High School drop off. Please refer to the diagram on social media to see how the flow of traffic moves through the high school lot. We are working on a plan for afternoon pickup lines and congestion as well. Thank you for your patience! Happy first week of school!

If your student is needing an immunization, Cox Mobile will be at Crane Friday September 6th. Please call Nurse Sydney if you need a consent sent home. Letters have been sent home if your student is due for an immunization. Immunizations must be up to date or exemption form filled out in order for students to attend school. Thank you!
